Direct School Admission (DSA) Secondary Schools
Learn how Primary 6 students can apply to selected secondary schools through DSA-Sec based on their talents in sports, arts, leadership, science and more.
The Direct School Admission – Secondary (DSA-Sec) exercise allows Primary 6 students to apply for admission to selected secondary schools before taking the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE).
Through DSA-Sec, students may be offered a place based on their demonstrated talents, achievements and potential in specific areas, beyond their PSLE results.
Areas of Talent
Students may apply under one or more of the following talent areas, depending on the offerings of each secondary school:
Sports and Games
Visual, Literary and Performing Arts
Debate and Public Speaking
Science, Mathematics and Engineering
Languages and Humanities
Uniformed Groups
Leadership (e.g. Student Council, Prefectorial Board)
Key Information
Parents and students should note the following:
Students admitted through the DSA-Sec exercise will not participate in the Secondary 1 Posting Exercise.
Students are expected to honour their commitment to the school and talent area through which they are admitted for the duration of the programme.
Once a DSA-Sec placement has been confirmed, students cannot transfer to another school through the Secondary 1 Posting Exercise.
Application
Applications are submitted online via the DSA-Sec Portal during the application period announced by the Ministry of Education (MOE).
There are no application fees for DSA-Sec.
