Pupils build, program, and compete with robots while developing teamwork, resilience, and creativity. Find out how to join and what to expect at each level.

The Robotics Club began in 2003 as a school enrichment programme and was officially established as a Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) in 2004. Today, Anthonians in our Robotics CCA use LEGO Spike Prime kits to design, build, and program robots to complete a variety of missions.

As pupils embark on their robotics journey, they not only gain technical skills when building and constructing but also develop important values align to the school’s C2O2RE disposition.

In which, they are Curious about how to problem solve and how the world of robotics and AI come about. They have Courage to persevere and build resilience by overcoming challenges and setbacks. They have openness as they accept constructive feedback to improve on their prototype. They have ownership as they display responsibility for their task given. They have reflectiveness as they think about where they went wrong and how to complete their missions in various ways. They have enthusiasm as they research on their projects and present exemplary robot models and presentation to the teachers and judges.

Junior members undergo a foundational training programme, where they are introduced to basic robotics concepts and learn to build and program robots to complete simple tasks. They are also expected to be able to come up with a simple presentation by the end of Primary 4. Senior members participate in an advanced training programme, where they explore the use of sensors and other LEGO components to tackle more complex challenges. Some of the competitions that our senior pupils participate in are the First Lego League Series and the IDE Series.
