Our Vision: A Journey of Head, Heart, and Hands
At St. Anthony's Primary School, we believe that caring for the Earth is a calling that involves the whole person. Environmental Education is not just a programme — it is part of who we are as a Catholic school. Our approach takes students on a journey from simply knowing about the environment to truly loving it and taking action to protect it.
As a school committed to nurturing values-centred leaders, we want our students to go beyond learning facts. We want them to develop a Heart for our Home — to see the world not as a resource to be used, but as a gift to be cherished.
Head: Learning the Facts
In the first half of 2026, we focused on building a strong foundation of environmental awareness. Our Green Wednesday Assemblies reached every student in the school, ensuring that the message of stewardship was heard by all. We also shared digital learning packages on waste and energy conservation, helping them understand the "why" behind our green efforts.
Heart: Growing a Love for Creation
Knowledge is only the beginning. We want our students to feel a genuine sense of awe and wonder for the natural world. This came to life beautifully during World Water Day, many students voluntarily wrote poems reflecting on the value of water. By celebrating the unique biodiversity of our Little Red Dot — from the otters to our local Mangroves — we help students see every living creature as a gift from the Creator.
Hands: Taking Small Steps Today
True care shows up in our daily habits. Our "Make it Active" activities are designed so that every student can play a part.
Creative Ownership: Every single class participated in our Recycling Bin Designing activity, turning an everyday classroom task into a creative act of love for the environment.
Student Leadership: Our Environmental Ambassadors are stepping up — moving from supporting roles to leading our school-wide Green Audit and Wildlife Outreach Programme.
Earth Hour: Our school community marked the occasion together by switching off lights and fans for thirty minutes — a simple act that carried a clear message: we are willing to give something up for the sake of our common home.
Clean Plate Campaign: Looking ahead, we are encouraging students to reduce food waste at every meal, showing respect for the Earth's resources one plate at a time.
Deepening Our Impact Together for a Greener Tomorrow
At St. Anthony's, we believe that caring for our common home is a shared responsibility — and that the most lasting change happens when school, family, and community walk together. We are strengthening our partnerships with families and with organisations such as NParks and NEA, who share our commitment to raising a generation of young stewards. We invite every Anthonian family to join us as we learn to notice, learn to care, and learn to protect our common home for generations to come.
