Student Leadership
Every student has the potential to lead with heart and purpose. Discover how our four-tiered leadership framework nurtures character, confidence, and a commitment to serving others.
At the heart of our school’s student leadership philosophy lies the belief that every child can be a leader. Guided by The Student Leadership Challenge and its 5 Practices of Exemplary Leadership — Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act, and Encourage the Heart — our structured, progressive leadership framework empowers students to grow in character, confidence, and competence as they journey from self-leadership to leading others.
Our student leadership development is anchored in a four-tiered model:

Tier 1 – Leading Self: At this foundational level, all students are encouraged to develop self-discipline, responsibility, and a growth mindset. Leadership learning is embedded in the Living Well curriculum and school experiences, and reinforced through daily routines and interactions. This stage nurtures self-awareness and self-management, forming the building blocks of effective leadership.
Tier 2 – Leading Peers: Students begin to lead within their immediate circles and learn to work collaboratively with others. Opportunities include serving on Class Committees (P1–2 by teacher nomination; P3–6 through student applications), and taking on roles as Class Committee Members and CCA Leaders. These authentic platforms help students develop leadership through supporting their peers, encouraging teamwork, and contributing positively to the class and school community.
Tier 3 – Leading Teams: At this stage, students are entrusted with greater responsibilities and wider influence. Leadership roles include Prefects, School CyTech Champions, Peer Support Leaders, and Student Ministry Leaders. They are encouraged to rally others towards common goals, while also learning to identify ways to improve school experiences and solve problems creatively.
Tier 4 – Leading Leaders: This tier features our most experienced student leaders—those who serve as Executive Committee Members in the Prefectorial Board, School CyTech Leadership Board, and Peer Support Squad. As role models and mentors, these leaders guide their juniors, spearhead impactful initiatives, and influence positive change at the school level. They learn to recognise the contributions of others, build team spirit, and foster a caring and supportive leadership culture.
Each tier is purposefully designed to align with students’ developmental stages:
Stages of Student Leadership Development
Tier 1 Budding Leaders (P1-2) | Tier 2 Junior Leaders (P3-4) | Tier 3 Senior Leaders (P5-6) | Tier 4 EXCO Leaders (P5-6) |
Discover leadership through friendship and participation. | Build foundational leadership skills through role modeling and responsibility. | Develop initiative, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. | Drive impactful change, mentor younger leaders, and lead school-wide efforts. |
Through this purposeful and tiered approach, we aim to nurture student leaders who embody our school’s C2O2RE dispositions and who are ready to make a positive difference in their communities.
